About Resonant Strategies.
Where clarity meets impact.
I'm Ashlie Contos, the founder of Resonant Strategies. I help nonprofits secure meaningful funding and build the development systems to sustain it, through grant strategy, strong writing, and a partnership that complements your organization.
My background
I've spent more than two decades in and around mission-driven organizations across higher education, healthcare, recovery, and community development, including the University of Houston, Baylor College of Medicine, The Phoenix, and YMCAs. That time inside these organizations taught me how they really work, where they get stuck, and what it takes for them to grow.
Since 2022, I've focused that experience on development, helping nonprofits secure the funding their work depends on. In 2024 alone, I helped secure approximately $1.8 million across the country, including over $1.2 million in HUD Continuum of Care awards, supporting organizations in housing, health equity, recovery, and youth development.
Writing that does the work
Strong funding starts with strong writing, and that's where I come from. My background is in academic research and publishing, and I've spent years teaching technical communication to engineers at the University of Houston's Cullen College of Engineering. I know how to translate complex work into language that connects, whether the reader is a federal reviewer or a local family foundation. I don't simply write proposals; I help organizations find the words that truly reflect their impact.
What I believe
Powerful missions deserve equally powerful support. I take on this work as a way to be of service, to the organizations doing our communities' hardest work, and to the people they show up for every day. I don't chase funding for its own sake. I help you pursue the right opportunities, in the right way, at the right time.
I live in Texas and work with nonprofits across the country.
